A Master doesn't run a 'democracy' in his ashram/movement.
But it becomes a bit tricky, to say the least, when he dies, doesn't it?
Trouble is, not only 'priestly' types, but everyone else has their own ideas, based upon where they personally are at, so the whole thing is almost bound to degenerate into squabbling and 'politicking' over time.
I suppose there's always 'common sense' to fall back upon...No, on second thoughts, that's surely too much to expect from a bunch of spiritual seekers...
If you're after "free speech" in the ashram, why not go the whole way and institute free elections. What fun that would be, eh?!!
